Art Square Studios Host Open Studies June 4

Summer splash of art!

Dive into some cool refreshing art on Sunday, June 4 when the multi-talented artists of Art Square Studios on Almeda (ASSA) will open their studios for visitors. From 1 to 5 p.m., guests will have the opportunity to talk one-to-one with the artists and get a first look at new work and new collections.

Artists at ASSA include Ann Bell, Tay Butler, Heather den Uijl, Stephanie Fox, Justin Earl Grant, Alan Hurwitz, Riaz Khan, Ruhee Maknojia, Sunny McKinnon, Silvio Ortega, Donna E. Perkins, Lucy Wells Riggs, Helene Robinson, Earl Staley and Bob Warren.

The exhibiting group includes artists who work in oil, watercolor, acrylic and pastel; plus, there are several photographers and a fashion designer. Some of the artists are well known in the Houston art scene. Some are just getting started, having recently graduated from art schools throughout the country. Several teach classes at Houston-area art schools and colleges. Several are represented by Houston galleries.

Art Square Studios on Almeda is located at 5301 Almeda Road in the Museum District. just off Bissonnet/Binz. The building has an elevator for second floor access. A parking lot is behind the building; entrance on Oakdale. Open Studios is Sunday, June 4 from 1 to 5 p.m. There is no charge to attend. Art Supply on Almeda (open Monday through Saturday, closed Sunday) is on the first floor.
